A former Redskins defensive end is calling the current players “sissies”.
When asked on 草莓传媒 how the current Redskins compare to the teams he played on, Dexter Manley said a lot of the guys he played with “played with a lot of heart and soul.”
“A lot of these guys, they have great causes, they do great things in the community, but they’re sissies,” Manley said of the current players.
Known around the 草莓传媒 newsroom for his crushing handshake, Manley measured 6’3″, 253 pounds in his playing days.
He played in the NFL from 1981 to 1991, and earned All-Pro and Pro Bowl selections in 1986.
“Mike Shanahan has really went out and got a lot of players with some character. Joe Gibbs — he was about the character, but he’s more so about the guys who could really play football. Who have a lot of heart, compassion {sic} for the game. I’m not saying these guys don’t have it, but I think overall that we were winners. Let’s see if these guys can win,” Manley said.
He predicts the Redskins will beat the Saints on Sunday, adding that he expects the team to win at least 10 games.
