WASHINGTON – The lottery for tickets to the National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on the Ellipse opens Thursday.
People interested in attending the annual event in Washington can , beginning at 10 a.m.
The lottery can also be entered by calling 1-877-444-6777.
There are 3,000 seated tickets and 14,000 standing-room tickets available.
The lottery ends at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 29.
The tree lighting ceremony, now in its 90th year, is scheduled for Dec. 6.
