Waist size indicates your health

WASHINGTON – You may not want to think about your waist size, but experts say it’s a good general guide to health.

If you’re a man and your waist is more than 40 inches, there’s a good chance you’re carrying extra weight. The figure is 35 inches for women.

The National Institutes of Health says people carrying excess weight around the mid-section are more prone to heart disease and high blood pressure.
