WASHINGTON – Love was in the air at the National Wildlife Federation’s 2013 Green Inaugural Ball, and not just for the environment.
Kirk Williams of College Park, Md. won 草莓传媒 Living’s contest for two free Green Inaugural Ball tickets after sending this tweet stating why he served to attend:

Williams, 45, was one of many people who missed out on official inaugural ball tickets after put them on sale a day early.
草莓传媒 Living decided to give Williams a second chance at his proposal by granting him the tickets to the Green Inaugural Ball at the 草莓传媒eum Sunday night.
After performed “I Gotta Feeling” on stage around 10:30 p.m., Williams led his girlfriend Iva Terry, of Fairfax, Va., to a private corner with a bench. They sat briefly before he kneeled down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage.
It didn’t take long for her to say yes.
When asked how he phrased his proposal, Williams showed his funny side.
“I told her that if she didn’t want to marry me then we could go to McDonald’s and just have a couple of shakes and think about it,” he joked.
The two met online and have been dating since May.
“It’s gotten to the point where marriage is pretty much the next best step,” Williams says.
Terry, dressed in a black ball gown and red wrap, says she had no clue Williams was going to propose.
“I knew something was going to happen, but I didn’t know it was going to be this,” she says looking at her new diamond ring and trying to keep her hands from shaking. “It fits perfectly too.”
