5 injured in crash involving school bus

A crash involving a school bus and a Kia Soul occurred at the 7500 block of Green Valley Road at about 3:30 p.m., according to Mike Dmuchowski, spokesman for the county’s Division of Fire and Rescue Services.

The driver of the Kia Soul was flown to Meritus Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries, according to the County Sheriff’s Office.

Fourteen students, 13 from Middle School and one from Elementary, were on the bus. Four Middle students suffered what appeared to be minor neck and knee injuries and were taken to Memorial Hospital, according to Dian Nelson, communication coordinator with County Public Schools. The bus driver was not injured.

All lanes of Md. 75 between Old Annapolis and Glissans Mill Road have been reopened as of 5:05 p.m., according to the Maryland State Highway Administration’s website.
