Second time’s a charm for ‘Book of Mormon’ tickets

WASHINGTON – Fans of the “Book of Mormon” are anxiously awaiting the moment when tickets go on sale to the public through the Kennedy Center Thursday.

But after the center’s site crashed during the members-only ticket sale two weeks ago, many wonder if it will stand up to the increased demand.

John Dow, with the Kennedy Center, says there won’t be a problem when the at 10 a.m.

There was some speculation that it was ticket brokers who and phone lines two weeks ago, but that has not been confirmed.

“We have about 30,000 members and we had far more clicks per second than we had members,” Dow says.

To make sure things go smoothly this time around, Dow says the Kennedy Center is limiting the number of tickets one can purchase.

“The most you can buy in one transaction is four tickets to the “Book of Mormon,” says Dow.

The show runs in July and August at the Kennedy Center.
