2 childhood favorites to screen on the Mall

WASHINGTON – The heat has arrived and so has this summer’s schedule of movies on the mall.

released its schedule of four, American classics Thursday.

Like last year, the movies will be shown on a 20-foot by 40-foot screen between 7th and 12th streets Northwest on the National Mall.

The movies begin at sunset and are free to the public.

Here is the lineup:

  • July 22 – “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial”
  • July 29 – “Norma Rae”
  • August 5 – “Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory”
  • August 12 – “Tootsie”
