WASHINGTON – One person is dead after being hit by an Amtrak train just outside of the New Carrollton station Sunday morning.
The train was headed to New York when it hit the person, who was laying on the track. An Amtrak spokesperson says the accident happened at around 8:30 a.m. just south of the station.
No one on board the train was injured.
