WASHINGTON – Cal Ripken Jr. now has an honorary degree from the University of Maryland, College Park.
The former Oriole was bestowed the honor of Doctor of Public Service Sunday at the Comcast Center.
He delivered the commencement address for 7,700 graduates, stressing the importance of a positive attitude.
Cal’s wife, Kelly, graduated from Maryland in 1981.
