TSA finds dozens of fake ID cards in bags at BWI

WASHINGTON – Transportation Security Administration officers at Baltimore Washington International-Thurgood Marshall Airport found dozens of fake identification cards inside checked bags that belonged to two passengers Sept. 27.

Officers opened a checked bag that set off an alarm, TSA said. They found a stack of fraudulent cards, which included several New York State driver’s licenses and credit cards in different names.

“When our Transportation Security Officers come upon something that is not a threat to security, but is believed to be illegal, we immediately contact our partners with the Maryland Transportation Authority Police,” Andrea Mishoe, TSA’s BWI federal security director, said in a statement.

The passengers, both Nevada residents, were removed from the plane. The Maryland Transportation Authority Police then confiscated the ID cards and cited both men with state charges.
