The 2013 Forbes 400 list of the Richest Americans includes 11 who live in the Washington and Baltimore areas.
The highest-ranked locally is candy empire heiress Jacqueline Mars, 73, in The Plains, Va., who ranks at No. 15 on the list with an estimated net worth of $20.5 billion.
Microsoft Corp.’s Bill Gates ranked No.1 on the 2013 list, with a net worth of $72 billion, followed by Warren Buffett, at $58.8 billion, and Larry Ellison, at $41 billion.
