WASHINGTON – Virgin America wants to make sure its passengers pay attention to safety instructions at the start of its flights, so Tuesday it’s debuting a new, irreverent safety video that features 36 singers and dancers.
The features a flight attendant snatching a cellphone from a nun (yes, a throwback to a 2007 video), pop-and-lock dancers demonstrating life vests and children rapping about how to use the oxygen mask and not smoking.
With appearances from “American Idol” semi-finalist Todrick Hall and former Olympians Tamara Campos (the nun) and Emilie Livingston (the teacher), the 5-minute video uses 14 dance styles to spell out all of those pre-flight instructions flight attendants give.
