Ron Burgundy exhibit opens Thursday at ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½eum

WASHINGTON – ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½ team, assemble! Ron Burgundy is coming to the nation’s capital.

Even though the sequel “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues” won’t be out until Dec. 20, you can get your jazz-flute fix downtown starting Thursday when the ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½eum opens

Created in partnership with Paramount Pictures, the exhibit will feature props, costumes and footage from the original 2004 film.

“For millions of viewers, the news anchor represents the authority and credibility of television news. But anchormen and women also are popular targets for pop-culture laughs,” Cathy Trost, vice president of exhibits and programs at the ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½eum, says in a statement. “The exhibit explores the reality behind the humor of ‘Anchorman’ and tracks the rise of personality-driven news formats in the 1970s.”

The ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½eum says visitors will also have a chance to step in front of the camera and take part in an “Anchorman”-themed TV spot at one of its “Be a TV Reporter” stations.

“Anchorman: The Exhibit” will be on display at the ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½eum through Aug. 31, 2014.
