WASHINGTON – A flirty come-on, or the secret snapping of a photograph?
, a wearable computer mounted on an eyeglasses frame, has introduced a new feature that lets users take a picture by simply winking.
With its optical head-mounted display, previously Glass users were able to snap photos with voice commands, or by pressing a button on the glasses frame.
Some privacy experts and business owners have voiced worry that Glass users can secretly take photographs in public or private locations.
In a new software update, Google introduced the .
Google offers the following advice to users, under the heading “Etiquette.”
“Use your best judgment when using Wink. Be careful who you’re winking at and be conscious of your surroundings when you do it. You don’t want to give off the wrong impression.”
Glass is not yet available to the general public, although Google has recently made more of the $1,500 units available for sale to so-called Glass Explorers.
