Officer shot, suspect dead in D.C.’s Trinidad neighborhood

WASHINGTON – A police involved shooting Tuesday night left a suspect dead and an officer hospitalized in D.C.

Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to the 1300 block of Queen Street Northeast in D.C.’s Trinidad neighborhood just after 9 p.m.

“Not a lot of details yet about what all started this but both sides fired at each other before it was all over,” ABC 7’s Tom Roussey told ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½.

The officer’s condition isn’t known, but he was conscious and breathing when transported, police tell ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½.

Just before 4 a.m. Wednesday, police confirmed with ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½ that the suspect died at the hospital of his injuries.
