WASHINGTON – It’s not a done deal, but some parents and community members of a local Catholic high school are working to stop the school from relocating from Fairfax to Loudoun County.
Paul VI Catholic High School has been located in the City of Fairfax since it opened in 1983, but , where the Catholic Diocese of Arlington owns land.
There is now a with more than 250 fans. One person has started an , and at least one community member is questioning what economic impact there could be on the City of Fairfax should the school leave.
Any move would not take place before 2020, according to the Diocese.
“But again, I would underscore that this is by no means a complete decision,” says Michael Donoghue, spokesman for the Catholic Diocese of Arlington.
A from the diocese released says, “A new PVI campus would be a larger, state-of-the-art school facility that would further strengthen its heritage as a leading Catholic high school.”
