It turns out the rare snowy owl that was injured by a is a female:

Officials at , where the bird is being cared for, say test results have confirmed the sex of the bird, but that more tests are needed to tell them more about her condition.
Last week, Clinic Director Alicia DeMay described the owl as behaving as though she was a bit foggy. But now, staffers say the Arctic visitor appears “brighter” each day, behaving more and more like a wild owl should – unfortunately, that means she’s not always happy about all the attention.
