WASHINGTON– The search for 8-year-old Relisha Rudd led police to a Days Inn not far from the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens on Friday night, according to local news reports.
WUSA9 reported at 12:30 a.m. Saturday morning that police had already come and gone from a search in one of the hotel rooms, but would not confirm exactly what they were searching for.
The hotel, located on New York Avenue in Northeast Washington, D.C., is only a mile and a half from the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, where suspect Kahlid Malik Tatum was seen a day after he was last spotted with Rudd. Police have been combing the park in what they are calling a “recovery” search. See related story: .
