WASHINGTON — An in-home day care in Arlington is closed as police investigate why a 3-year-old girl was left outside in the cold rain on Monday without socks, shoes or a jacket.
The day-care operator, Parveen Ahmed, was apologetic when asked what had happened, but Dustin Steinbeck, of the Arlington Police Department, says “The provider was unwilling to work with police, answer questions, just tried to get us to leave [and] said everything was under control.”
The girl was alone for between 30 and 60 minutes, ABC7 reports.
The county investigated the day care in December and found several violations, which Ahmed corrected.
