9 acrobats hurt after circus accident

WASHINGTON — Nine acrobats were injured Sunday after they fell 25 to 40 feet from an aerial platform during the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus show in Providence, R.I.

The accident occurred at 11:45 a.m. at the Dunkin Donuts Center, according to Associated Press. “Obviously, something went wrong,” Providence Public Safety Commissioner Steven Pare told AP.

Roman Garcia, the show’s general manager, told the AP that the circus accident was part of a “hair hang” act.
