Family finds dog lost in Hurricane Sandy

WASHINGTON – By chance or fate, a New Jersey family has been reunited with a dog they had lost in Hurricane Sandy 18 months ago.

The family went to the Monmouth County SPCA in Eatontown, N.J. to look into adopting a new dog after giving up hope of finding their dog, Reckless, who ran away in the hurricane. After talking with the family, an adoption counselor brought out a dog who sounded like he could be a good match.

The match couldn’t have been any more perfect.

The dog, named Reckless, was in the shelter as a stray. Liz Wise of Monmouth County’s SPCA told Yahoo ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½, “We don’t know this for a fact, but we believe what happened is that when the dog was originally lost after the hurricane, somebody found him and took him in and didn’t bring him into a shelter. Then he got out again and one of our employees found him and brought him in.”
