WASHINGTON – Many can’t go without that daily cup – or several cups – of coffee. But what is it costing you?
A from USA TODAY provides a quick way to learn how much you’re spending for that java fix.
For example, if you drink just one cup of Starbucks coffee a day, you’re spending about $63 a month and more than $766 a year. Over the course of 30 years, that would add up to nearly $23,000.
By comparison, the calculator estimates you’d spend just $2.40 a month if you made inexpensive coffee at home – less than $30 a year.
The estimates for Starbucks are based on a 16-ounce, grande coffee at $2.10 a cup. Homemade coffee is based on $8 for a 34-ounce can of Folgers or Maxwell House.
