Rain pushes Pentagon flyover to Saturday

WASHINGTON — A ceremonial flyover above Arlington, Virginia has been pushed to Saturday due to rain.

Twenty-five World War II-era aircraft will take off from Culpeper Regional Airport around noon, and fly in a special formation down the Potomac River. The aircraft were originally scheduled to take flight Friday.

The event will mark the first-ever flyover of the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery, according to a news release from .

The “Potomac Flight” is in honor of (DAV), and should be visible from D.C., Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland, and the following areas in Virginia: Alexandria, Arlington and Rosslyn.
