The Springfield, Illinois-based company said it had profit of $1 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and investment costs, came to $1.28 per share.
The provider of auto and homeowners’ insurance for teachers and other educators posted revenue of $429.3 million in the period.
Horace Mann expects full-year earnings in the range of $4.20 to $4.50 per share.
