The Stamford, Connecticut-based company said it had net income of 64 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 66 cents per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 56 cents per share.
The maker of lightweight composite materials posted revenue of $529.3 million in the period, also beating Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $521.7 million.
Hexcel expects full-year earnings in the range of $2.30 to $2.40 per share, with revenue in the range of $2.03 billion to $2.13 billion.
