Pet of the Week: Galena

WASHINGTON — Are you looking for a mature canine companion who still has lots of
get
up and go? If so, Galena is your gal.

This happy Labrador mix is 9 years old, but if it weren’t for a bit of gray around her
appealing underbite, you’d never know. She’s bouncy and playful and enjoys a good game
of
fetch.

Like most of us baby boomers, she does have a bit of arthritis, but nothing that
interferes with her enjoyment of life. And speaking of baby boomers, Galena qualifies
for our Boomers’ Buddies program, which means her adoption fee will be waived for
adopters age 50 or older.

So stop by the Washington Animal Rescue League and meet Galena.

About WARL: Founded in 1914, the Washington Animal Rescue League is the
oldest
animal shelter in Washington D.C. Its mission includes rescuing,
rehabilitating
and finding homes for animals who have no where else to go. The League also
