WASHINGTON 鈥� When聽 next month, some of the audience winners at his papal mass will have won their tickets in a聽video contest.
“Answer Pope Francis’ call to serve!” says Christopher Baker, the director of multimedia production for the Archdiocese of Washington.
The papal visit video contest hopes聽to inspire people to get involved in their communities. Any kind of volunteer project is eligible聽鈥� helping聽a neighbor, for example, or a church, or聽even family members.
Baker says they鈥檙e looking for videos聽that portray how a group or individual聽had a moving experience.
“Document the experience that you have. If you were moved, if you were inspired, if you thought: 鈥極h, this was more a service to me, than me serving someone else鈥�,” Baker says.
Three video contest winners will receive four tickets each to the papal mass on聽Sept. 23 at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. They’ll also get their choice of an iPad Air 2 or a GoPro HERO 4.
The winning videos will also be played at a D.C. event involving Pope Francis.
Videos of volunteer experiences should be two minutes or less and submitted for consideration by Sept. 1.
