Man in viral arrest video charged

RIVERDALE PARK, Md. (AP) — Police say a man apparently on PCP withstood several rounds of shocks from a stun gun and pepper spray before officers could take him into custody.

Riverdale Park Police Chief David Morris commended officers for their restraint during the confrontation Friday at a McDonald’s, where they responded to a call about a man throwing chairs who appeared to be hallucinating.

Morris says that the man had minor injuries and that officers arguably saved his life.

The chief says the man, 41-year-old Marcus Moycherielli of Washington, was charged by criminal summons with assault, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
