WASHINGTON — A man who authorities said was driving under the influence when he caused a 2014 car accident in Prince George’s County that killed five people — including two children — has pleaded guilty.
Kenneth Kelley was scheduled to go on trial Monday. He pleaded guilty to five counts of negligent manslaughter, as well as a host of other charges.
In October 2014, Kelley crashed into the back of a car that was stopped at a red light in Oxon Hill, Maryland. Kelley, who was speeding and had a suspended license at the time of the deadly crash, had also been drinking, police said.
Two of the victims killed were sisters — Tameika Curtis and Typhani Wilkerson. A baby boy and a 13-year-old girl were also killed, along with a passenger in Kelley’s car.
The two sisters left behind 10 children between them.
