WASHINGTON — An armed burglary suspect who may have set a fire at a home on Surratts Road in Clinton, Maryland, has been caught after a barricade situation with Prince George’s County police Tuesday morning, authorities said.

The suspect had gone into hiding in the woods nearby, officials said.

Though the suspect has been apprehended, police presence in the area remains.

Prince George’s County Police Chief Hank Stawinksi has lifted his request that nearby residents shelter in place.

Earlier, police responded to a call around 8 a.m. reporting a breaking and entering in the 7500 block of Surratts Road.

There, patrol officers saw a fire and a male suspect fleeing the house. He was armed and headed into the woods.
