WASHINGTON — A New Carrollton man was gunned down Wednesday along Baltimore-Washington Parkway in Prince George’s County, Maryland, during rush hour — and police believe commuters may have witnessed the fatal shooting.

James Edwards, 29, was found dead in the street on Annapolis Road around 6:10 p.m. by responding officers.

Edwards was shot and killed on the busy roadway, detectives said.

They also say it wasn’t a random act.

“This was a brazen shooting,” Christina Cotterman, spokeswoman with Prince George’s County police, told ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½.

“We know that multiple people probably saw a portion of this crime — maybe the aftermath — and we want to hear from them,” she said.

A $25,000 reward is being offered for any information that leads to an arrest and indictment.

A map of the area where the shooting occurred is below.

Anyone with information about the case can call the Homicide Unit at 301-772-4925.
