Driver dead after Prince George’s Co. Police officer shoots him in Camp Springs

Authorities are investigating after a shooting involving a police officer in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

It started after 11:30 p.m. last night, when officers saw a pair of cars drive down Reamy Drive near Suitland Road and Randolph Road in Camp Springs.

Prince George’s County Police say one of the cars drove off the road and through someone’s yard toward the officers.

At some point, one of the officers on scene fired his weapon, hitting the driver, a man.

Officers provided medical aid until EMS crews transported the man to the hospital, where he died, according to police.

Details remain scant after the incident.

The Independent Investigations Division of the Maryland Attorney General’s Office is investigating the shooting.
