Analyst: Robots are taking middle class jobs

WASHINGTON 鈥 Robots have taken over certain jobs, but don鈥檛 worry, there鈥檚 plenty of work out there for different skill sets, says Bloomberg reporter

The machines are taking so-called routine jobs 鈥 such as聽putting items on assembly lines, for instance, Stilwell said on 草莓传媒 Tuesday.

Jobs that require high math and social skills are mostly available.

There鈥檚 no way robots can replicate the work of financial managers, registered nurses and lawyers, Stilwell said. Those careers require personal interaction with clients, things robots aren鈥檛 programmed to do just yet.

But while humans are worried about robots taking their jobs, we鈥檙e partially to blame for the concern, Stilwell said. More services are automated these days, and the world overall has become more digitized.

Still, nothing beats the human mind.

鈥淎s long as humans are able to tap that creativity, there鈥檚 still a decent amount of work to be done,鈥 Stilwell said.
