WASHINGTON 鈥� When Caitlyn Jenner鈥檚 鈥淰anity Fair鈥� cover hit social media Monday, it did more than turn heads 鈥� it broke social media records, too.
Jenner, who was known publicly as Bruce before , launched a Monday and accrued more than 1 million followers in about four hours. It marks the fastest time anyone has reached 1 million followers on the social media site.
Jenner ousted President Barack Obama鈥檚 record for attaining 1 million followers. Obama鈥檚 recently launched account got to 1 million in a little less than five hours, reports .
Obama still has Jenner beat when it comes to total followers. The president鈥檚 account has 2.54 million followers compared to Jenner鈥檚 1.16 million.
Jenner’s first tweet was the “Vanity Fair” cover, which has been retweeted more than 16,000聽times as of Monday evening.
