Payback, Pick 6s and plenty of free football. What a Week 5.
Steelers 24Chargers 20
San Diego got Antonio Gates back in the lineup and Philip Rivers wasted no time hooking up with Gates for their 100th TD … but he also hooked up with Antwon Blake for a Pick 6 that provided Mike Vick the help he needed to pull off his first 4th-quarter game-winning drive since 2012. Pittsburgh will need more of the Vick of old (rather than just an old Vick) if they’re going to survive this Sunday’s visit from Arizona on a short week.

Redskins 19Falcons 25 (OT)
Atlanta is 5-0 for the second time in team history, Devonta Freeman is the first player in a decade to score eight rushing TDs in his team’s first five games of a season, and the Falcons D shut down the ‘Skins’ league-leading rushing attack and Pick Sixed Kirk Cousins for a walk-off win. Kyle Shanahan wins at life.

Browns 33Ravens 30 (OT)
Josh McCown is balling out of his mind: Lucky #13 threw for a franchise-record 457 yards and 2 touchdowns (none better than ) to get Cleveland their first win in Baltimore since 2007 (also a 33-30 game in overtime, ironically) and snap an ugly streak of 10 consecutive losses in divisional openers (the longest streak since 1970 merger). I can’t tell if the Brownies are that much better or if the Ravens are suddenly that bad.

Bears 18Chiefs 17
KC is cooked. Losing at home to Jay Cutler is bad, but losing Jamaal Charles and his league-leading 38 touchdowns in three years is potentially devastating when Alex Smith is your QB.

Seahawks 24Bengals 27 (OT)
Cincinnati close out the game with 20 unanswered points to start 5-0 for the first time since 1988 — the last time they went to the Super Bowl.
I can still change my AFC pick for the Super Bowl, right?

Saints 17Eagles 39
Sam Bradford is the first quarterback this season to be intercepted twice in the red zone in the same game, meaning Philly’s romp actually could’ve been much worse than this.
That says way more about the Saints than it does the Eagles.

Rams 10Packers 24
Aaron Rodgers had his first multi-interception game at home since Week 7 of 2010 and his first three turnover game since Week 9 of 2009 … yet still won by 14. Every week there’s a new reason why Green Bay is the team to beat in the NFC.

Bills 14Titans 13
, Rex Ryan is a man of his word: Buffalo got the penalties down to seven () and I’m not sure it counts as revenge for the Music City Miracle, but the Bills are still on track for that return to the playoffs we were promised.

Cardinals 42Lions 17
I’m genuinely stunned that Detroit is 0-5. Matthew Stafford is the new Human Turnover, their ground game is on the back of a milk carton, and the defense can’t stop a nosebleed. The Lions should do Calvin Johnson a favor and trade him to either New England or Carolina.

Dear Greg Hardy,
Hell, I’ll even let you and the Cowpokes sack me five times in the first half. But  The football gods (and karma) demand it.
Love,
Tom Brady

Broncos 16Raiders 10
This game can be summed up by two words: Peyton’s picks. Charles Woodson was , and he did it twice to become the first 39-year-old to intercept another 39-year-old. That leaves Manning with seven interceptions this year, the first time since his rookie season he’s got more INTs than TDs this deep into a season.
Yet Denver’s still undefeated because their defense scored. Again. Go figure.

49ers 27Giants 30
Meanwhile, Eli Manning set a Giants-record (41 completions) to set another Giants-record (102 career wins) and move New York into the NFC East penthouse all by themselves. Eli’s 100.2 QB rating and the Giants’ newfound swagger entering back-to-back division games (at Eagles, vs Cowboys) has me suffering flashbacks to upsetting their way to the Super Bowl …

Colts 27Texans 20
Indy tapped the geriatric ward to carry them to some pretty epic streaks: the Colts won their 16th straight within the AFC South (the longest divisional win streak since the AFL/NFL merger), 11th straight win on Thursday Night (longest active streak), and 6th straight over the Texans. All thanks to 40 year-old Matt Hasselbeck (2 touchdowns to 34 year-old former Texan Andre Johnson despite, um, ), 32 year-old Frank Gore (98 yards and a score), and 42 year-old Adam Vinatieri (made both of his field goals and all three extra points). It’s a good thing isn’t playing out here in Washington; it would be a full blown QB controversy …
