23-year-old Ashleigh Barty from Australia has won her first Major at a Grand Slam event after defeating 19-year-old Marketa Vondrousova from the Czech Republic at today鈥檚 final of the French Open.
The score was聽6-1, 6-3.
Both players had never made a major single鈥檚 semifinal before this tournament, with Barty joining champions Garbine Muguruza (2016), Jelena Ostapenko (2017) and Simona Halep (2018) as players who won their first ever Slam championship in Paris.
