Tickets are now available for a one-day-only pop-up hosted by the Morris American Bar. , is transporting guests back to the Jazz Age with a Prohibition-era-themed evening bound for Union Station’s Presidential Suite. This suite is an opulent room that is typically closed off to the public, historically only available to former U.S. presidents when they would welcome world dignitaries or await their travels.

The Speak Softly pop-up will offer an open cocktail bar with period-appropriate refreshments, plus a live “Gatsby” band, a DJ, dancers and performers. The dress code is “immersive,” meaning that guests are encouraged to wear their best 1920s garb, said Nikki Braden, vice president of hospitality for Versus Equity, in an interview with 草莓传媒.

Tickets to the event cost $125 per person or $100 per person for a group of six or more.

After Hours at Art Enables
on Thursday, Nov. 9, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., while getting an exclusive preview of the space’s three new exhibitions, “End of Year Report,” “Raymond Lewis: Hall of Saints,” and “Shawn & Charlie’s Shoetopia.” The event is free and family-friendly.

Bake & Take: Pie Night Edition
Mess Hall in D.C.’s Brookland neighborhood is hosting a and sharing. The event is on Thursday, Nov. 9, at 6:30 p.m. with tickets that cost $95 for general admission or $105 for VIP admission with unlimited beer and wine.

U.S. Navy Band at the MLK Library
On Friday, Nov. 10, the U.S. Navy Band’s dynamic popular music group, Cruisers, and the Concert Band鈥檚 12-member brass ensemble will. The event is free to the public.

The Wait Wait Stand-Up Tour
Be prepared to laugh on Saturday, Nov. 11, at the live show hosted by podcast hosts. The event will be at The Anthem with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and the show starting at 8 p.m. Tickets range from $35 up to $55 each.

Saturday Night Salon at Hotel Zena
Get a at this event with keynote speaker Andrea Dawson Sheehan of Dawson Design Associates. The welcome address will be led by founder Kaitlin Calogera, followed by cocktails and networking. The event on Saturday, Nov. 11, will also include a historical bus tour of women-influenced or -focused local sites, such as the Mary McLeod Bethune Statue. Tickets range from $60 to $150 for single admission.

National Veterans Day Parade
On Sunday, Nov. 12, celebrating Veterans Day at this parade along Constitution Avenue.

Eighth annual National Pupusa Day Celebration
On Nov. 12, will host pupusa workshops, Salvadoran rum tastings and interactive dance performances, plus giveaways and family-friendly activities in celebration of National Pupusa Day. The event has free entry.

Understanding D.C.’s War Memorials
This will be located at the Hill Center at the Old Naval Hospital. The speaker, George Mason University associate professor of history Christopher Hamner, will teach how to look beyond a monument’s explicit message for meaning and significance. Advance tickets cost $14.31 plus fees.

Virtual Queer Book Club
On Tuesday, Nov. 14, the D.C. Public Library’s will meet to discuss Billy-Ray Belcourt’s debut novel, “A History of My Brief Body.” Check out more of .

Maryland

“Here Come the Holidays” Art Market
This art market in Gaithersburg, Maryland, will be hosted on Saturday, Nov. 11, for those in search of . The event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Arts Barn and Kentlands Mansion with a variety of mediums, including paintings, ceramics, jewelry, textiles and more.

34th annual Strathmore Museum Shop Holiday Market
For more early holiday shopping, head to from Nov. 9 through Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for fun and festive gifts from a variety of local museums and cultural shops.

Celebrate Diwali at VisArts
In Rockville, Maryland, with this one-hour art workshop where guests will be able to create projects like a diya, or a clay lamp, and a kolam, or a drawing with chalk. All guests are required to register ahead of the event. Tickets cost $5.

Ninth annual Howard County Veterans Day Parade & Celebration
This Sunday, in Downtown Columbia. The event starts at 9:30 a.m. with a ceremony following the parade.

Virginia

17th annual Alexandria Film Festival
From Nov. 10 through 12, the will show 60 films in-person and host almost 40 directors, producers and actors taking part in 30 interactive “Meet the Filmmaker” events.

Veterans Day National Ceremony
this Saturday, Nov. 11. The event starts at 11 a.m. with a wreath laying at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, a funerary monument dedicated to deceased U.S. service members whose remains have not been identified.

“Perfectly Acceptable” exhibition at George Mason University
Don’t miss The Fenwick Gallery’s retrospective exhibition of the Chicago-based small press publisher . Ending on Nov. 18, “Perfectly Acceptable” presents a broad review of the publisher’s archive and an in-depth exploration of the award-winning comic “Grip” by Lale Westvind.
