WASHINGTON 鈥� Tuesday morning was a rough one for people traveling by the rails, with delays and cancellations on Metro, Virginia Railway Express and MARC.
A cracked rail on Metro鈥檚 Red Line near the Friendship Heights station led to single-tracking between the Van Ness and Friendship Heights stations until about 10:30 a.m. Outbound trains are bypassing Tenleytown in order to ease the delays, but riders are tweeting about delays of 30 minutes or more at some stations.
On VRE, a car got stuck on the tracks in Manassas, leading to serious delays.
322 is 60 late, 324 is 40 late, 326 is 15 late. 321 is cancelled. Since its equipment won’t return south train 330 will also be cancelled.

And MARC canceled Trains 844 and 847 on the Camden Line due to mechanical problems.
