WASHINGTON 鈥� I-95 Northbound has reopened after a fatal crash near Millard Tydings Bridge in Cecil County, Maryland. Delays remain on I-95, US-40 and US-1.
The driver of a 2001 Jeep Cherokee, Eric Schlerf, 37, of Bel Air, Maryland, lost control of his vehicle while driving northbound on I-95 and struck a tow truck, another vehicle and a pedestrian.
Brian Williams, 51, of Cecil County, Maryland, was the driver of the tow truck and was outside of the vehicle when he was struck. Williams was pronounced dead at 10:48 a.m.
The tow truck, a 2014 white Freightliner Tow Truck, was retrieving a 1993 purple Chevrolet Camero.
The crash investigation lasted from 12:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. All lanes were blocked on I-95 Northbound. Traffic is no longer being diverted to MD-222 Perryville but long delays remain.
No charges have been filed at this time. This is an ongoing investigation.
