WASHINGTON 鈥� A resurfacing project between Maryland Route 100 and Maryland Route 175 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, will bring single and double lane closures Sundays through Fridays from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. in July.
The work, which will start southbound, will be suspended for the July 4 holiday.
The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration crews are permitted to work Sunday nights through Friday mornings with single lane closures. MDOT SHA can also close two lanes between 12 a.m. and 5 a.m. to expedite the work, especially during paving operations.
The last time this portion of the BW Parkway was resurfaced was in 2005. This new $6 million project will include pavement patching, milling (removal of the top layer of asphalt) and paving and restriping the 3.3 mile section of the Parkway.
Commuters through the area should give themselves extra commuting time to and from BWI Marshall Airport or consider using Interstsate 95 or US 1 (Washington Boulevard) as alternate routes to avoid delays.
