WASHINGTON 鈥斅燗 North Carolina couple walked down the aisle together for a second time recently, in a wedding that was truly meant to be.
Adrian and Brooke Franklin, from Gastonia, N.C., were paired as flower girl and ring bearer in their parents鈥� friend鈥檚 wedding when they were just five years old.
Brooke says she had a crush from the start, but her future husband took a little longer to come around.
“He absolutely could not stand me. He said ‘I got on his nerves.’ I’d tried to play with him at school and at church and he just didn’t want much to do with me at all,” she ABC 草莓传媒.
That eventually changed and they started dating in high school. Seventeen years after their first trip down the aisle together, the couple married at the same church.
The bride from that wedding nearly two decades earlier was among the guests, and brought along some photos from her day to share with the newlyweds.
Adrian says they鈥檝e been taken aback by the reaction to their love story. “We are all in shock as to all the attention that this is getting,” he told ABC 草莓传媒. “There was a picture that my mom posted on Facebook and we’re glad that it’s good news going out and not bad.鈥�
