VIDEO: Pope aids officer after she falls from horse in Chile

WASHINGTON — Pope Francis stopped his motorcade to help a fallen police officer Thursday in Chile after a collision between the Popemobile and the officer’s bucking horse caused her to hit the ground.

Videos show the horse rearing up as she tries to get the animal under control.

Moments later, the horse backed into the path of the Popemobile and was struck, sending the officer off her mount and to the ground.

Pope Francis stopped his motorcade and went to her side, at one point laying his hands on her face as emergency personnel carried her away.
