WASHINGTON 鈥� A woman has died from cancer a month after a聽group of Northern Virginia craft brewers to聽help pay her medical bills.
Kerri Rose was diagnosed with Stage 4 stomach cancer after she and her husband, Matt, announced their pregnancy. Their son, Lance, was born fine.
Kerri died this past weekend, Matt announced on the couple鈥檚 .
鈥淚 can’t express how much you all have meant to us both and Lance over this,鈥� Matt wrote.聽鈥淎ll the money left over after medical bills will go to Lance’s education fund that we set up when he was born. Kerri loved your words and support so much.鈥�
Earlier this month, 19 brewers gathered at聽Fair Winds Brewing Co. to brew 30 barrels of beer. They chose a Belgium Pale Ale to honor the Rose family鈥檚 style and approach to brewing.
The beer will be served on the weekend starting Friday, Jan. 29 as a fundraiser for the Rose family.
鈥淏uy a pint and the money goes to helping this young woman, this young mother fight cancer,鈥� said聽Casey Jones, CEO of Fair Winds Brewing Co.
