Reports: Zimmermann, Tigers reach $110 million, five-year deal

WASHINGTON — Former Washington Nationals starting pitcher Jordan Zimmermann has agreed to a contract with the Detroit Tigers, according to multiple reports.

, Zimmermann is expected to receive at least $100 million.  Zimmermann and the Tigers reached a five-year, $110 million contract, pending the completion of a physical exam.

Zimmermann, who spent his whole career in Washington and is a two-time All-Star, is best known for throwing a no-hitter during the 2014 regular season finale.

Zimmermann had Tommy John surgery in 2009 but has consistently started more than 30 games per season for the last four years. He finished 13-10 last year with a 3.66 ERA and 164 strikeouts, .
