Reports: Nationals, Trea Turner reach deal with 1-year, $7.45M contract

The Washington Nationals and shortstop Trea Turner agree to an arbitration-avoiding deal; it’s a one-year contract worth $7.45 million,.

The 26-year-old hit a career-high 37 doubles and 19 homers in 2019 after leading the NL in steals the previous season.

This wraps up a week where the Nats agreed to deals with all seven of their arbitration-eligible players: Pitchers Joe Ross and Roenis Elias worked out one-year contracts Friday, while pitchers Hunter Strickland and Javy Guerra, plus outfielder Michael A. Taylor and infielder Wilmer Difo, came to terms with the team earlier in the week.
