PARIS (AP) 鈥� Kavinsky, the French electro-pop composer whose haunting track 鈥淣ightcall鈥� set the musical tone for the movie 鈥淒rive鈥� starring , has died. He was 50.
Culture Minister Catherine P茅gard described the performer, who appeared at the of the in 2024, as one of France鈥檚 鈥渕ost singular voices.”
鈥淏oth danceable and nostalgic, his music will continue to resonate across generations and borders,鈥� the minister said in a post on X.
French President Emmanuel Macron wrote in a post on Facebook: 鈥淜avinsky, forever a source of French pride.鈥�
The performer, whose real name was Vincent Belorgey, was found dead at his home on Tuesday evening, the Paris prosecutor鈥檚 office said.
It said an investigation has been opened into the cause of death, but that first responders didn鈥檛 regard it as suspicious.
