WASHINGTON 鈥� A Fairfax County teacher who police say helped a student steal a case of beer from a Reston, Virginia, gas station was arrested on Monday and now faces alcohol, drug and larceny charges.
Fairfax County police said 30-year-old Fabiana Alicia Ciammaichella, who teaches Spanish at South Lakes High School, was caught on surveillance video shortly before 11 p.m. Monday distracting a cashier at an聽Exxon station on Baron Cameron Avenue as 18-year-old Adelmo Ernesto Arias Guillen entered the store and stole the beer. Guillen is a sophomore at South Lakes High School.
Fairfax County police said they tracked Ciammaichella to her home where they discovered the stolen beer and also a variety of illegal narcotics. Ciammaichella and Giullen were both arrested.
Police said Fairfax County Public Schools officials are aware of the incident and have suspended Ciammaichella.
A Prince George’s County teacher was also arrested on Monday. and child solicitation charges involving one of his students.
