PHOTOS: What’s inside a 2,000-acre Virginia estate that sold for $18.8M

A 2,000-acre estate in Virginia Hunt Country has sold for $18.750 million, the most expensive residential sale in Virginia, Maryland or D.C. since 2022.

Prior to selling, the Hume, Virginia, property was most recently listed at $19.5 million.

The estate is named The Cove.

Kathryn Harrell, and Robert Hryniewicki, Adam Rackliffe, Christopher Leary, and Micah Smith of HRL Partners at Washington Fine Properties.

The sprawling property at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, includes a lake, ponds and hiking trails.

The 20,000-square-foot home with eight bedrooms and 11 baths was built in 2002. It has a pool, home theater, gym, 10 fireplaces and a 3,500-bottle wine cellar with tasting room.

There is also a nine-car garage and a carriage house.
