Hundreds waited in line Friday to get free ice cream — and a glimpse of the owner of new pop-up ice cream shop Smize & Dream.

The first 202 people (D.C.’s area code) in line got a free scoop of ice cream and got to meet Tyra Banks.

Banks has said the pop-up shop at 2653 Connecticut Ave. NW is going to run through Sept. 20, offering a taste of the brand to D.C.-area patrons for the coming weeks. Afterward, Banks plans to open a non-profit ice cream learning center in the District aimed at helping underserved youth in the city.

The supermodel, TV personality, and creator of America’s Next Top Model told ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½ why she picked the Woodley Park neighborhood of Washington as the first official location of Smize & Dreams and recommended an ice cream flavor that you should try.
