Thousands of runners took off on Sunday morning in the D.C. area for the first in-person Marine Corps Marathon since the pandemic.

The 47th annual marathon kicked off at 7:15 a.m. between Arlington National Cemetery and the Pentagon.

It was last held in person in 2019.
